Our Version of the Classic Gin Fizz

The Gin Fizz is a classic yet elegant cocktail that is sure to blow your socks off. This drink is perfect for any occasion or any setting, bored on a Friday night at home or even at a downtown speakeasy. The Gin fizz is a simple cocktail to make but is sure to impress your guests.

Hannah and I have been experimenting with making our own version of a gin fizz, and we have done it! The Rosemary Grapefruit Gin Fizz is just that. We can not wait for you all to try this amazing Cocktail.

You will need to start with 2 ounces of your favorite Gin, ours is Hendricks. Add that to your empty shaker.

Next you will need to add 1 ounce of lemon juice to your shaker. If you have any lemons around try fresh squeezing them for your juice, it really makes a difference!

Now to add your sweetener, use 3/4 of an ounce of simple syrup, to make it our own we added our homemade rosemary simple syrup. You can use any simple syrup, but an infused simple syrup is an easy way to put a spin on a classic and make it your own.

Don't let this next ingredient scare you away. An egg white, yes I said an egg white, but it is used to create a rich and creamy foam on a drink. The egg becomes odorless and tasteless. A lot of people are scared that the egg is uncooked, but that is not the case. When you shake the cocktail with an egg white in it you break it down, Lemon juice also helps with breaking down the egg.

Lastly add 1 ounce of fresh squeezed grapefruit juice.

Once you have added the five ingredients above you will dry shake them. This is when you shake the drink without any ice in the shaker. Thus shaking method helps create a thick foam for your cocktail.

Next you will add ice to the shaker and shake your drink again.

Once you are done strain your cocktail into the glass of your choice and ENJOY!

We hope you enjoy our spin-off on such a classic cocktail, and we can not wait to see everyone trying this recipe for themselves!
