Make a Mango Mojito Float


Imagine you are sitting on a beach with a fresh, bubbling mojito in your hands. The smell of mint wafting from your cup as you feel the sand in your toes. Then imagine someone comes up a drops a large scoop of mango sorbet in your cup. Perfection.


Well, unfortunately we cannot take you to the beach, but we can teach you how to make our favorite summer drink, the mango mojito float.



First, juice a lime into your glass. Depending on the size of the lime, you may only need half of it, but you should use about one and a half ounces of freshly squeezed lime juice.


Next, add an ounce of simple syrup. You can use a regular simple syrup, but if you have time to prepare it in advance, a mint infused simple syrup would work perfectly in this recipe. You can check out this post to learn all about making your own infused simple syrups.


Then, gently rub five to six mint leaves between your fingers and add them to your cup. Doing this activates the oils in the leaves and makes them smell delightful.


Add a splash of mango nectar. This can be purchased at just about any grocery store. Our favorite brand is Jumex and is usually found in the Latin American food section of our local grocer.


Next add two ounces of your favorite rum. Our strong suggestion is Bacardi's mango flavored rum, but with mango nectar, the mango taste can still be achieved with a regular white rum.


Fill the cup to the top with ice, top with tonic water, and stir.


Finally, add a generous scoop of Haagen Dazs mango sorbet on top and garnish with a sprig of mint and your favorite straw.




We love this cocktail because it is so yummy, and so versatile! If you are not the biggest fan of mango, try leaving out the mango nectar and adding muddled strawberries and substituting mango sorbet for strawberry sorbet and immediately you have yourself a strawberry mojito float. Try things and get creative! It's all part of the very fun process of becoming a craft cocktail artisan.

Mango Mojito Recipe


  • 1.5 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice

  • 1 ounce simple syrup

  • 5-6 mint leaves

  • splash of Jumex mango nectar

  • 2 ounces Bacardi mango rum

  • Ice

  • Tonic Water (about 5 ounces)

  • Large scoop of Haagen Dazs mango sorbet

  • Mint sprig for garnish

Mix lime juice, simple syrup, Jumex mango nectar, and Bacardi mango rum in cup. Activate mint leaves by gently rubbing them in your fingers and add to cup. Fill cup with ice and top with tonic water. Mix, top with Haagen Dazs mango sorbet and garnish with sprig of mint.
